I work as a musician, producer, songwriter, personal manager, A&R manager and teacher. From the early eighties and into the early nineties, I worked as a session drummer and partipated in the recording of more than 200 albums (most of them released in Denmark, my native country). Have received numerous gold and platinum awards as a session drummer, and later as a producer and songwriter. I worked as an A&R manager (for EMI (now Warner Music), BMG (now Sony Music) – and independent labels). Now in 2015 I see myself do everything almost at the same time. Play live, produce, write songs, teach music and develope young music talent.
Has worked as an A&R manager for EMI (now Warner Music), BMG (now Sony Music) and held a position as head of A&R at Metronome-Replay records (later acquiered by BMG/Sony)
In 1998 I signed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner-Chappell Music Publishing.
In the early days of my songwriting career I had songs recorded by legendary Irish singer and three times winner of the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST, JOHNNY LOGAN (Sony Music) and CAROLA – a Swedish multi platinum recording artist, and considered beeing the biggest star in Sweden. Aorund the same time Swedish artist MAGNUS covered one of my songs.
In 2002 I got my first cut in Australia. Local POPSTARS winner SCOTT CAIN (Warner Music) has covered “Gotta Get You Back” – co-written by Cosgrove & Clarke (writers of “CRUSH” for Jennifer Paige) and Danish artist and songwriter Daniel.
Spend seven months in Stockholm (October – May 2004) writing songs- and doing productions which Swedish collaborators.
In September 2004 I got my first US cut. Latin artist ALIH JEY (Universal Latino) covered a song “Tu Canción Feliz” written by me, Jodi Marr and BEE GEE´s house-engineer and bassplayer John Merchant. The song was written during a writing trip to Miami.
Also, in September 2004 my fist cut in Japan was a reality. Superstar BoA (originally from Korea) recorded a song co-written by me and Swedish writers. The Japanese title is QUINCY. The album went TOP five on the Original Domestic Chart in October 2004 with 50.000 copies sold the first week.
Within a short period of time the album reached NO 1 in Japan and sold over a million copies. The single has sold 400.000 copies. I received a Grammy for an “outstanding achievement”, shown on Danish Television.

The song was featured in ‘Love for Rent’ (the film won the “Audience Choice Award” at the NY Latino Film Festival and is now airing on HBO in the U.S, France and Eastern Europe. Theatres in LatinAmerica)
MINK IS NO.1 ON THE BILLBOARD CHARTS IN THE US! (2006) – with the song “Glory Of Life”. The song went top 10 in Japan (2005)
Wrote “Holding Back The Tears” with co-writer Peter Malmrup for korean boyband TVXQ in 2006.
The korean girl group GIRLS´GENERATION covered the song “Complete” written by Ingrid Skretting and me in 2007.
Me and Peter Malmrup also wrote “If I Can´t Love You” which is on the SMOKIE album “Take A Minute” from 2010 (Black Pelican/SONY Music). The album is released in countries stretching from Germany to Australia.
In 2010 I went to Tokyo for two weeks on a writing trip organized by creative manager Lars Sjelle from Warner-Chappell Music Denmark, and Kenichi Seki from NICHION Japan, and wrote several songs with local songwriters.
Same year a song written by me and my Norwegian collaborater Steinar Storm, was recorded by three different acts in the Scandinavian countries, and in 2011 we hit number 1 on the Danish charts. Also in 2011, a Swedish colleague – Anders Borgius – and me, wrote a Christmas song which came out on a Christmas album released through EMI in Denmark.
In 2012 I co-wrote and produced a brandnew Christmas song called “This Holy Night” for Liz Mitchell, the original leadsinger of BONEY M, which is out on two Christmas compilations (El Dorado Lux and Now Christmas – SONY Music 2012) – in addition I produced three other Christmas songs released November 2012 (SONY Music).
A song written on a trip to Tokyo, “Fill Me Up” (Jan Lysdahl / Teppei Shimizu) has been released by female arist, Seiko Shiga. The release title of the song is “Tell Me Love”. out December 19th 2012 (Universal)
In 2013 I´m on to doing several TV performances (on two national TV channels), playing live, doing recording sessions (one album has been released in the beginning of 2013 and one album, and a Christmas album featuring the wonder-kid Thomas Meilstrup was released at Christmas. Also I produce and write songs at my studio and teach young kids in a place called Vallekilde.
2014 starts out with a song placed by Warner-Chappell Music Publishing in Canada . The Canadian singer/songwriter Sarah Smith has recorded “Insecure”, written by me, Marcus Dernulf (SE) and Terri Bjerre (USA).
A new season (10 shows) of live music on Danish television was taped and aired 2014. Also in 2014 I replaced drummer and MD in the very succesful TV show “Dancing With The Stars”
In January 2015 Warner-Chappell Music placed a song called “Heaven” – written by by Jacob Launbjerg (2 x winner of the Danish Eurovision Song Contest) and me, in the Norweigan Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Oslo and aired live on NRK (Norweigan TV) on March 14th.
The same song will also be released – translated into Afrikaans – in South Africa by COLE VAN DAIS & RUBY TUESDAY (release TBA)
